Today marks my 12th year with EMI/Capitol/UMG Nashville. And it also marks my 25th year in Country Music.
Covid 19: My First 200 Days
It's true. It's been 200 days since we got home from my nephew's wedding and everything shut down. I thought I would take a moment, reflect and just share some random thoughts, musings, observations and words on this unique moment in time.
There Is No Time…
I am always apprehensive about today. There are emotions I don't want to deal with that come to the surface today.
Thoughts. Emotions. Frustration. Disbelief. Inspiration. Hesitation.
Is this the tipping point? Can it reach a level that it impacts law, real change and elections (local, state and national)? George Floyd is not a hero, he is not a martyr, he is a victim. It’s not about him, it’s about the 8:46. And to quote my pastor from yesterday, “It’s pain, wrapped around pain.”
I Have Been Struggling.
George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor.
A Playlist Challenge
Attention music friends and fans, I have a playlist challenge for you.
250 / 65 / 7
What do those numbers mean? Seems kind of random. What if I told you those numbers are HUGE? (But the one on the left has been bigger.)
The Joy of Covid-19
I know what you are thinking. There is no joy in this. But in trying times, there is also Joy. Stay with me here. I would like to share the Joy of the last couple of weeks. (seriously!)
The Quarantine Anniversary (is that a thing?)
So it's our 28th anniversary today. If you read my earlier post this week, you know what we are NOT doing together. But as I sit here this morning, my wedding vows came into my head. And was thinking how they look, today with Covid-19 and "Stay In Place/Stay Safe" Order in effect.
There are no words.
None. WE have been here before.
