There Is No Time…

I am always apprehensive about today. There are emotions I don’t want to deal with that come to the surface today. There are so many stories I have heard, been told, read about today and the days after. I have been to the museum, and stood where the towers once were. I think of all the sacrifices that were made to save complete strangers. I remember the days after when we were one people, when we were one country.

I came across this quote this morning, and my eyes filled with tears. Are we honoring the lives lost EVERY DAY, not just today? Do we live our lives a little different because of the sacrifices that were made by all the NYPD/FDNY that day?

The hate I see, hear and on occasion even experience tells me different.

What can you do, what can we do differently? Can we show love and understanding first, before hate? Can we start with kindness instead of divisiveness?

Have we learned nothing from the firemen who went UP THE STAIRS, while everyone went down?

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:29-32
