Anger, Frustration, Sadness and Disgust.

Anger, frustration, sadness and disgust. These are the emotions I have been cycling through… Avoiding the news channels, because they would just be jumping from conclusion to conclusion…I have kept informed using an ongoing thread from CNN, for just factual updates…

This is Santa Fe Texas, just one town over from where I grew up. The term “too close to home” here has never been more true…

Then I read my wife’s post on social media just a little while ago…

My stomach turned over when I heard a stranger comment “at least it was only 8 this time”

Seriously?! It shouldn’t be happening at all!!
Santa Fe…my heart breaks with yours…

WTH? Are we that desensitized? An acceptable body count of CHILDREN? Comparing this to other mass shootings? Is that progress cause there are just 8-10 dead????

I have NO answers to solve what’s happening… None…

What I don’t understand is why there aren’t smarter people than me, in a room trying to come up with a solution to this multi-faceted issue! I think the government calls it a “blue ribbon panel”?  I’ll pay for the ribbons, just get in a room and work on solving this problem!!!

I believe it is a gun issue, a mental issue, a cultural issue and a young male issue. Let’s not label it, let’s not place blame, LET’S FIND A SOLUTION!…

Because I believe what the Mayor of Dallas just said…

I disagree with one thing he said, I believe that thoughts and prayers are a good thing. But without action they ARE meaningless…

James 2: 14-17

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

I pray not only for healing, for these families and everyone in Santa Fe. I pray for action from our community leaders, our state and national representatives.

Our children should be our first priority, plain and simple…
